American Studies is an interdisciplinary Program that offers courses from a variety of disciplines, including English, History, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Music, Art and others from throughout the City College community.
From a wide range of perspectives – sociological, historical, economic and literary among others - American Studies majors develop a deep appreciation of the various cultures that make up our nation’s array of races, ethnicities, and regionalisms. These insights are supplemented by reviewing cultural relationships in photography and film.
