This month the project proceeds with the creation of the new IDF (distribution) rooms throughout the building. These expanded rooms will house the additional number of IT switch racks required to control the new data equipment that will be installed in almost every room in the building.
The project proceeds with the installation of new HVAC units in each of the IDF rooms. Additionally, conduits and wiring will be run in multiple rooms through out the building to feed these units.
The project has completed trenching for the installation of new WAPs (wireless access points) in the Shepard Hall Yard on Convent Avenue that will provide WiFi capabilities in these outside spaces.
In the coming month, the project will shift to working during the night to minimize impact and install new data wires, data ports, and WAPs to almost every room in the building. These will be activated once the project is complete and the building is ready to switch over to using the new IDFs.
